Hot melt EVAs are made from a combination of solid thermoplastic copolymers, tackifying resins, and waxes that function with the right viscosity when applied in the packaging applications.

EVA adhesives demonstrate strong adhesive properties, but most importantly they set quickly by virtue of their hot melt character.

Resulting Properties

A starting formulation for an EVA hot melt formulation commonly used in curtain coating applications is given in the table above.

It has good adhesion to a variety of packaging films and can be applied over most wax based carton coatings, providing an excellent seal.
