Applicable Base Polymer Properties
Dow Construction Chemical Latex Powder (DLP) 212 is a free flowing, redispersible white powder
obtained by spray drying of an aqueous vinyl acetate-ethylene-VeoVa-copolymer dispersion.
It offers all the advantages of a free-flowing powder additive such as ease of transportation,
storage and handling. DLP 212 Redispersible Latex Powder can be used in a variety of applications
in the construction industry to improve key properties of cement and gypsum based formulations.
Both polyvinyl alcohol and vinyl acetate-based (VA) are subjected to hydrolyze in the presence of water. To protect these organic bonds, they are copolymerized with hydrophobic polymer usually with ethylene or vinyl versatate (VeoVa).
