Brenntag announces the acquisition of Aik Moh Group to boost its industrial chemicals and value-added service footprint. The group offers a wide range of industrial chemicals with excellence in last-mile delivery, mixing and blending and offers value-added services such as repacking, warehousing, and logistics support with a focus on South-East Asia.

With this acquisition, Brenntag Essentials expands its business into key focus markets in Asia Pacific, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Pacific Avenue to Acquire Three Product Lines from Cray Valley

TotalEnergies has accepted an offer from Pacific Avenue Capital Partners for the acquisition of three product lines ( Wingtack®, PolyBD® and Dymalink®) developed by Cray Valley, its resin production and sales affiliate. The transaction includes four production sites in the United States, the Cray Valley Italy affiliate and the portfolio of customers.

The transaction will allow Cray Valley to focus on its specialty C4 and pure-monomer resin businesses which will continue to be developed by TotalEnergies. Production of the Ricon®, Krasol® and Cleartack® resins will continue at Carling (France), in accordance with the commitments made when the site was restructured in 2013, Grand Junction (US) and Kralupy (Czech Republic).

Barentz Acquires Metachem in Brazil, an Adhesive Raw Material Distributor

Barentz International, a life science and performance materials ingredients distributor, in close collaboration with its joint venture partner, Tovani Benzaquen, expanded its activities in South America with the acquisition of Metachem Industrial e Comercial Ltda and its associate Chemtra Comercial Importação e Exportação Ltda., a Brazilian distributor of supplies and solutions for the chemical segment.

Metachem Industrial e Comercial Ltda, headquartered in the city of São Paulo - SP, Brazil, distributes raw materials and ingredients in South America that is strongly active in the industrial materials, paints and adhesives markets, as well as having a presence in the life science markets.

Versalis to Acquire Novamont to Enhance Renewable Chemistry Position

Versalis – Eni's chemical company and a shareholder of Novamont (36%) – and Mater-Bi – a company controlled by Investitori Associati II and NB Renaissance – announces today the signing of an agreement for Versalis to acquire the remaining 64% of Novamont’s shares currently held by Mater-Bi. Novamont is an international company in the field of chemistry from renewable sources.

Next steps and the timing of closing are subject to approval by the competent authorities.

Arkema to Acquire Polytec PT to Boost Bostik’s Product Offerings

Arkema to acquire Polytec PT, to strengthen Bostik’s product offer to serve the fast-growing batteries and electronics markets. The acquisition is part of the Arkema’s strategy to become a full system provider and support its customers to develop sustainable solutions for the batteries and electronics markets.

Polytec PT, a company based in Germany, develops thermal interface materials for batteries and engineering adhesives for the electronics market. It delivers around €15 million in sales with one main production site in Karlsbad, Germany.

Duraco Specialty Materials Acquires Strata-Tac, a PSA Manufacturer

Duraco Specialty Materials, a manufacturer of specialty materials including PSA Formulation Strategies for Tapes & Labels, coated films, and release liners, announces today that it has acquired Strata-Tac, a manufacturer of custom engineered pressure sensitive self-adhesive products and top coated films, from private sellers. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The add-on acquisition of Strata-Tac continues Duraco Specialty Material’s commitment to delivering technically advanced, customized solutions across growing end markets. The addition of Strata-Tac’s expertise in water-based chemistries complements Duraco’s growing portfolio of sustainable solutions, giving customers immediate access to a broader range of pressure-sensitive adhesives for labels and tapes, facestocks, and specialty coated materials.

Holcim Acquires Minerales y Agregados to Boost Business in Latin America

Holcim announces the acquisition of Minerales y Agregados, a manufacturer of advanced mortars and adhesives in Guatemala. Minerales y Agregados represents Holcim’s first production facility in Guatemala, while expanding the region’s solutions & products range with a new line of business.

Holcim expects to deliver synergies by expanding the supply of Minerales y Agregados from its plants in Metapán, El Salvador, as well as by expanding the advanced mortars and adhesives offer from the Disensa retail network.

Everchem Acquires Specialty Products International to Boost Business

Everchem, a North American specialty chemical supplier providing formulated solutions and raw materials for the urethane and epoxy markets, has acquired Specialty Products International (SPI). SPI has an extensive product catalog in the urethane specialty additives market. The official announcement from Everchem was made on July 24 at 8 a.m. EDST.

The move to acquire Specialty Products International first started in September 2022 as both company principles – David Patten, chief executive officer/chief financial officer Everchem and Ed Galla, president of Specialty Products International – realized that SPI’s unique product line of solution-based catalyst and additive technologies aligned well with Everchem’s commercial strategies.

Sika to Acquire Chema, a Tile Adhesive Manufacturer in Peru

Sika to acquire a manufacturer of tile setting materials operating under the umbrella brand Chema in Peru. The acquisition strengthens Sika’s position in the fast-growing mortar market and provides cross-selling opportunities through an increased presence in the distribution channel.

In addition, it significantly extends Sika’s manufacturing footprint. In 2022, the business to be acquired generated sales of CHF 50 million.
