Arkema Introduces Plastistrength® for Development of Acrylic Impact Modifiers Based Formulations

SpecialChem / Jan 25, 2011

Arkema Inc.'s PVC Additives Group has announced the introduction of Plastistrength® 576 processing aid for the PVC foam, profile, siding and compounding markets. Plastistrength® 576 was designed to offer PVC producers a significantly wider processing window, especially at lower processing temperatures, than other competitive offerings. As a consequence, Plastistrength® 576 provides the right processing latitude for the development of stable, high output formulations based on either acrylic impact modifiers or CPE.

Jim McAliney, General Manager of Arkema's PVC Additives business said, "Plastistrength® 576 processing aid is a real game changer for the PVC market, and will add significant value to the manufacturing processes of our customers. The ability of Plastistrength® 576 to maintain optimal fusion and physical properties over a wider range of processing temperatures sets Plastistrength® 576 apart from other competitive offerings in the marketplace."

"All through the downturn in the economy, our business invested in new product development and our Plastistrength® 576 processing aid is a perfect example of Arkema's focus and commitment to the PVC market," said McAliney. "Our development efforts have resulted in several new patents pending for our expanding line of Plastistrength® products.
