Chemtall Invests to Expand Aircraft Sealants Production

Chemtall Expands Production Site to Support Aircraft Sealants ProductionChemetall has inaugurated a laboratory and an office building in Langelsheim, Germany to expand the production of Naftoseal® aircraft sealants. The new production site will focus on the development and production of aerospace technologies. The site produces aircraft sealing compounds, anti-corrosive agents, cleaning products and other chemicals for surface treatment.

"We are positioning Chemetall with the capacity expansion for the future. The investment is a major milestone for the long-term success of our company," said Christophe Cazabeau, Senior Vice President of Surface Treatment. "The demand for our aerospace technologies is high and continues to increase. The expansion will allow us to continuously and precisely meet the demands and specific requirements of the global aerospace industry."

NADCAP Accredited Aircraft Sealants


The manufactured and supplied Naftoseal® aircraft sealants are internationally accredited through NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program), the global aerospace industry cooperation program for controlling and reviewing compliance in terms of quality control.

Commitment Toward Aerospace Customers


Langelsheim is the company's largest and most versatile production facility. The project is the brand’s largest single investment in the former Hans-Heinrich-Hütte. The expansion reflects the company’s strategic and long-term commitment to its customers in aerospace industry and supports the company’s journey towards a Surface Solutions provider.

Chemetall is Surface Treatment global business unit of BASF’s Coatings division.
