Leuenberger+ C Launches Bio-Based HMA for Packaging ApplicationsLeuenberger+ C launches Termomelt C716 BB, a technical hot-melt adhesive for packaging application. The new adhesive offers a bio-based material content of 55%, to offer greater sustainability and lower CO2 emissions while maintaining the performance of the Termomelt C range in terms of adhesion, tack and open time.

Raw Materials Derived from Renewable Sources


The raw materials used to reach 55% biobased content are entirely derived from renewable resources and through processes with low environmental impact.

"Termomelt C716 BB is the result of a reflection on the ever-increasing expectations that packaging must meet,” said Alessandro Leuenberger, chief operating officer of Leuenberger + C. “In fact, attention to packaging has increased over the years to become central not only for brand positioning but also for international environmental protection policies.”

According to Trivium Packaging’s 2021 Global Buying Green Report, which questioned over 15,000 consumers in Europe and the US, 54% of respondents take packaging sustainability into consideration when choosing a product, a percentage that rises to 83% among Millennials. While sustainable packaging is one of the objectives set by the EU Green Deal, on the basis of the directives in force since 1994. Termomelt C716 BB can help customers reduce the carbon footprint of their finished products, without sacrificing the quality of the bond”, added Leuenberger.

Termomelt C716 BB complies with FDA 175.105, 176.170, 176.180 and EU 10/2011 regulations for contact with food and is produced in the Crema (CR) plant, which is ISO 9001: 2015 certified (Quality Management System).
