Scott Bader’s Structural Adhesives Receive ClassNK Certifications

Scott Bader’s structural adhesives Receive ClassNK Certification Scott Bader’s Crestabond® M7-05 and Crestabond® M7-15 structural adhesives receive Nippon Kaiji Kyokai/ClassNK/NK certificates. The certification is in accordance with MED 2014/90/EU to be used in shipbuilding industry.

The structural adhesives gained:

  • MED/3.1 certification for primary decks covering,
  • MED/3.18, a certification for surface materials and floor covering with low flame-spread characteristics for decorative veneers and
  • MED/3.18 c certification for surface materials and floor covering with low flame-spread characteristics for floor coverings.

Growth of Scott Bader’s Structural Adhesives in Shipbuilding Industry


The MED approvals are important for the growth of Scott Bader’s structural adhesives in the shipbuilding industry. Scott Bader’s Crestabond® M7-05 and Crestabond® M7-15 gain NK’s certificate of approval for applications involving the bonding of steel. Crestomer® 1150PA, Crestomer® 1151A, Crestomer® 1152PA and Crestomer® 1153PA gain NK’s certificate for GFRP bonding applications.
