Benzoate plasticizers are known for their high solvating power, low moisture sensitivity, excellent resistance to stains, UV and organic extraction. Their only limitation is high viscosity that restricts their usage in some applications. In adhesives, benzoates plasticizers have been quite successful in replacing phthalates and are widely used in emulsion adhesives, latex sealants, and hot melt adhesives.
