Styrene Copolymers (SBR …) > Styrene Butadiene Rubbers, SBR
Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) is the most widely used synthetic rubber in adhesives & sealants and is produced from copolymer of styrene and butadiene. SBR adhesives show excellent heat, abrasion and crack resistance and better ageing characteristics than natural rubber adhesives. If not reinforced with fillers, SBR adhesives display certain limitations like poorer strength and tack, as well as lower tear strength. In adhesives and sealants industry, SBR is mostly used for bonding tufted carpets and in pressure sensitive adhesives.
