Sebacic Acid (Corvay)

Sebacic Acid distributed by Corvay Specialty Chemicals acts as a curing agent. It is used in the production of adhesives and sealants. It is a long chain dicarboxylic acid, also known as decanedioic acid or DC10. It is largely produced from the renewable raw material castor oil or alternatively from microbial fermentation of alkanes.

It consists of a straight-chain carbon backbone which provides flexibility and hydrophobic properties.
Sebacic Acid is a biodegradable, white crystalline solid with a relatively high melting point, making it also suitable for applications requiring heat resistance and stability.
It is used in the cross-linking of polymers such as PA 6 & 10, improving adhesion, strength and chemical resistance.
It has a shelf life of 2 years.
It is REACH registered.
