Rosin pentaerythrite resin. Acts as a tackifier. It is an irregular transparent solid made from gum rosin esterified by pentaerythrite. Exhibits light color, good resistance to yellowing, good heat stability and high adhesion. Soluble in coal tar, turpentine, alcohols, aromatics, ketones and aliphatic esters. Partially soluble in petroleum solvents. Possesses compatibility with vegetable oil, NR and CR. Used in hot-melt adhesives based on EVA and pressure sensitive adhesives based on SIS or SBS.
