Bartex® 80

Barium sulfate. Acts as an inert extender pigment. It is designed to increase the efficiency of titanium dioxide. Possesses controlled particle size, high whiteness and brightness, high specific gravity, as well as chemical inertness. Bartex® 10 functions in relation to the performance of prime pigments in many areas of end use. It provides ease in dispersion with increase in specific gravity, frictional resistance, chemical resistance, and X-ray opaqueness in most systems. The greater surface area of the finer particle barium sulfate increase viscosity of plastisols and other liquid resin compositions. The finer particle barium sulfate extenders have higher absorption capacities and absorbs more plasticizer in polyvinyl compounds. It promotes a faster cure in polyester resins.
