GENIOSIL® GF 56

GENIOSIL® GF 56 by Wacker is an organofunctional vinyltriethoxysilane. It is used as a co-monomer in polymers resulting in binders which, among other advantages, exhibit much improved wet scrub resistance and abrasion resistance. Designed for the production of silane modified polymers that serve as binders in adhesives. It hydrolyzes in the presence of moisture (ethanol is released) to form silanols, which can then react with themselves to produce siloxanes. Offers crosslinking and better adhesion to the substrate. It forms mineral-filled polymers on treating with fillers which exhibit improved mechanical and electrical properties.
