SBR 1009

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Lion Elastomers
SBR 1009 by Lion Elastomers is a crosslinked styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) terpolymer. It is produced via hot polymerization using a fatty acid emulsifier. Exhibits a good balance of tackiness, hardness, viscosity, smoothness. It enhances adhesion to a variety of substrates like drywall, subfloor, wood trim, ceiling tiles, carpet tiles, plywood, polystyrene foam and fiber board. It produces a smooth, extruded bead that is easy to break off.
  • Offers well controlled expansion & sag resistance when used with other low molecular weight polymers and improved cohesive strength when blended with SBR 1013.
  • Improves performance of formulations with SBS copolymer to achieve low temperature flexibility and better filler extension.
  • It is incompatible to oxidizing agents.
  • Suitable for smooth, non-stringy construction adhesives (that breaks clean when gunned or trowelled in place) and mastics.
  • Primary applications include interior caulking, sprayable adhesives, wall tile adhesives and panel adhesives.
  • It can also be used for pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA), laminating adhesives and sealants.
  • Recommended dosage level of SBR 1009 is between 10% and 30% of the total rubber hydrocarbon content of a formulation.
