Emulsion Polymerization: DO’s and DON’Ts

Dr. Alexander Madl – Jun 9, 2017

Emulsion Polymerization Emulsion polymerization has developed to be one of the most versatile polymerization techniques in polymers industry as it contributes value to both, the formulator as well as the end user by many facets.

Performing emulsion polymerization at industrial scale means to manage a complex and non-linear system as it is characterized by very high variety of:

 » Raw materials
 » Stabilizers, and
 » Process conditions

Hence, it is important to be aware of all DO’s and DON’Ts while carrying out this technique to make the process a convenient one.

very useful & informative article but of a general nature some example specially for emulsion polymerizations involving protective colloid stabilizers especially for monomers vinyl acetate which have higher solubility in water Dr Madhusudan M Bhagwat
