A novel multi-functional epoxy diluent based on cashew nutshell liquid (CNSL), LITE 513DF, has been developed by Cardolite. LITE 513DF was evaluated as an epoxy modifier and epoxy resin in 1K and 2K formulations, comparing adhesive performances in combination with various polyamines, Dicyandiamide, anhydride, and CNSL based curing agents (Phenalkamines and Phenalkamide).
Key benefits include low viscosity for good dilution power, high bio-content, increased crosslinking density for higher strength and glass transition temperature, increased flexibility, and improved water and chemical resistance, and corrosion resistance for durable adhesives and sealants.
