Resulting Properties
It is an EVA hot melt formulation commonly used for food. EVA resins are considered to be relatively safe to use in food applications. Certain adhesive manufacturers offer EVA resins that are approved for indirect food contact (FDA 21 CFR.175) applications.
This specific adhesive is noted for low viscosity and fast assembly as well as for its excellent hot tack, odor, and color. It:
- Has good adhesion to a variety of packaging films and
- Can be applied over most wax based carton coatings, providing an excellent seal
