Acrylic emulsions offer a low cost adhesive with moderate performance properties. They are tremendously versatile due to the large number of different monomers and resins available. Acrylic waterborne coatings and adhesives can provide bonds ranging from flexible and tough to hard and rigid depending on the formulation. Acrylic coatings and adhesives inherently have very good UV and oxidative stability and are generally preferred for outdoor applications.

Resulting Properties

Concrete coatings based on Syntran 1671 (Interpolymer) are designed for indoor use and exhibit excellent gloss and durability in high traffic areas. Based on innovative crosslinking technology, Syntran 1671 can be formulated with or without urethane dispersions, and has outperformed acrylonitrile-containing formulations in many applications. Formulations are faster drying than solvent based finishes, and will not darken or discolor with time. Finishes based on Syntran 1671 have excellent solvent and water resistance.
