Applicable Base Polymer Properties

Vinyl acetate acrylic copolymer emulsions are designed for use in formulating high performance adhesives for several industries. It provides a high level of adhesion to a variety of difficult-to-bond surfaces including PVC and polyolefin films. These adhesives provide a low to medium performance relatively inexpensive adhesive that dries quickly.

Resulting Properties

The low viscosity of the water emulsion and its fast setting capability provide an excellent adhesive for bonding for flexible construction material. The table above provides formulations for a vinyl acetate acrylate copolymer adhesive that will provide an adhesive for bonding PVC film to chipboard. This adhesive also has:

  • Good adhesion with excellent low temperature flexibility
  • Good aging characteristics
  • Outstanding borax tolerance and solvent tolerance
  • Excellent film flexibility.
