Albemarle Raises Prices of SAYTEX® HP-900 Flame Retardant

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Albemarle Corporation (NYSE: ALB - News), the world leader in the development, manufacture and marketing of flame retardants, will increase prices 10 percent for SAYTEX HP-900 flame retardant for polystyrene foams and other materials, effective globally on all shipments made on or after December 1, 2007, or as contracts allow.

Plastics compounders and polymer manufacturers use SAYTEX flame retardants and Albemarle technical services to add life-saving properties to materials found in rigid foam insulation and roofing materials; circuit boards, connectors and enclosures for electronic and electrical devices; flexible foam in furniture and automobiles; wire & cable; and coatings, adhesives, sealants and other building materials.
