BATON ROUGE, La. -- Albemarle Corporation, the world leader in the development and marketing of flame retardants and other innovative polymer additives and catalysts, will join plastics makers, compounders and molders from around the globe at the world's largest plastics technology exhibition, K 2007, the International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber, in Dusseldorf, Germany this October.

Albemarle is proud to announce that the company will host its largest exhibit to date at this important event, in hall 6, stand D61. Visitors to the exhibit will be able to meet Albemarle experts in a broad range of polymer additive and catalyst technologies, and learn about innovative solutions in:

  • fire safety and flame retardancy for thermoplastics, thermosets, phenolics, wire & cable, textiles and polystyrenic and polyurethane foams;
  • curing of coatings, adhesives, elastomers and sealants; and
  • catalysis and stabilization of polyolefin plastics.

Technical, business management and sales representatives from the company will be on hand throughout the show to help customers discover improvements and efficiencies in plastics compounding, manufacturing, and application using new and unique additives, synergists, catalysts and intermediates from Albemarle.

In addition, Albemarle will be able to update compounders and molders on fire safety standards and developments, share expertise on changing environmental regulations, and provide insight into industry-leading manufacturing practices and product stewardship activities like VECAP, the Voluntary Emissions Control Action Program.

Albemarle operates plastics additives and catalysts manufacturing plants and polymer application technical centers in the Americas, Asia and Europe. The company supplies SAYTEX® and PYRO-CHEK® brominated and bromine-blend flame retardants; MARTINAL® and MAGNIFIN® mineral flame retardants, smoke suppressants and fillers; ANTIBLAZE® chlorophosphates and ANTIBLAZE® and NcendX® phosphorus-based flame retardants; ETHACURE® curing agents and polymer chain extenders; ETHANOX® polymer antioxidants and ALBlend® custom, pelletized additive blend packages; and organometallic co-catalysts, catalyst activators, and custom polymer catalyst systems.
