Published on 2002-11-26. Author : SpecialChem

A paper discussing the appropriateness of the toxicity classification given to polymeric MDI in the International Fire Code has been published by the Alliance for the Polyurethanes Industry. The premise of the paper, titled "Commentary on the Toxicity Classification of PMDI in the International Fire Code," is that PMDI should have been reclassified from the "highly toxic" to "toxic" hazard chemical category based on its properties, fire behavior and inhalation toxicity. The paper is available on the API Web site.
