Bethesda, MD --The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) will host its Spring Convention, EXPO and PSA Short Course at the Hyatt Grand Cypress in Orlando, FL April 28-30, 2014. The three events are expected to draw 600 attendees including formulation chemists, R&D technicians and business analysts to the largest gathering of adhesive and sealant professionals serving North America.

The ASC Spring Convention will include four Keynote speakers to include Jeff Dietrich (of Institute for Trend Research) who will present Forward Thinking: 2014 & Beyond and Dwight Tozer (of ExxonMobil) who will present the Abundant U.S. Shale Gas Supplies are Revitalizing the Petrochemical Industry.

During the Convention portion of the program, more than 50 papers will be shared covering topics such as trends within the medical sector, market opportunities within the EU, China and South and Central America, as well as growth opportunities within PSA in North America. Sessions will also explore regulatory challenges, including Rule 1168 in California and the expected TSCA Reform Bill from Congress. A full day track focused on raw materials will be shared. Finally, the Convention will have at least 20 sessions dedicated to advanced technologies and formulation strategies.

"The preliminary program being developed will be broad-based and support chemists, business analysts, raw material suppliers and buyers, and the business professionals with responsibility for growing sales within their market sector," notes Matthew E. Croson. 'With the support of member companies, ASC continues to produce a strong educational program designed to ensure industry professionals are connected to the trends impacting the industry today, in order to plan for the future."

During the ASC Spring Convention, ASC will unveil two new reports that are under development: the Central and South American Market Report and the PSA in North America Market Report. "We are pleased to be developing these new member services that will help guide decision-making within this important region, and for this important technology," notes Croson. "We'll have speakers from Frost and Sullivan and ChemQuest, who are supporting the research for these programs, and they will be available to discuss their findings with attendees."

Also new to the Convention will be a networking program designed to connect attendees for one-on-one networking. The program, called EasyLink, will ensure that any member, full paid attendee will connect to any one person they would like to meet. This is a members only program where members simply have to bring their card to an ASC staffer and they will make sure to connect that person to the person they hope to connect with to learn how they may become strong business partners.

"The EasyLink is a program that is currently under development with ASC's marketing committee as they work to ensure that members get the most out of their attendance at our Convention," adds Croson. "When you have 600 attendees gathering over two days, it can be hard to find and meet a person you know you can support and this program will directly respond to that challenge."

ASC will produce its PSA Short Course as part of the co-located event. The meeting will be held April 28-29 and feature industry professionals, raw material suppliers and academics providing a strong technical overview of PSA as a formulation technology. Subjects will include an Introduction to PSA Markets, PSA Production, End User Opportunities and Issues, Characterization and Formulation.

The EXPO will also be held at the Convention, during the afternoon of April 29. This year, the EXPO will feature approximately 75 companies, be part of an expanded 3.5 hours during the afternoon, and include a networking reception.

"We are excited to bring the industry's largest event to Orlando, and look forward to gathering the innovators and leaders that are guiding the future of our industry together for 2.5 days of networking, education and information sharing," reports Croson.
