Ashland Raises North American Resin Prices

Published on 2005-03-07. Author : SpecialChem

DUBLIN, Ohio (USA) -- Ashland Composite Polymers, a business group within Ashland Specialty Chemical, a division of Ashland Inc. (NYSE:ASH), is increasing the price of its epoxy vinyl ester resins (DERAKANE®, DERAKANE MOMENTUM™ and HETRON® products) sold in North America by 15 cents per pound. In addition, Ashland will increase unsaturated polyester resin and gel coat pricing by 4 cents per pound.

Both price adjustments are effective March 24, 2005. The price increases are in addition to already announced increases and are driven by a continuing and relentless escalation of raw material costs. By responding to changing market conditions Ashland can continue to provide innovative products and industry-leading product support to our customers.

In an effort to simplify pricing and enable customers to coordinate orders and logistics, Ashland is also implementing a new drum pricing differential on March 24, 2005, for DERAKANE, DERAKANE MOMENTUM, HETRON and MODAR® vinyl ester resins. This new initiative gives Ashland customers flexibility on their resin orders. Ashland account managers will work closely with customers to implement the new schedule and pricing adjustments.
