BASF Introduces Breakthrough Acronal® A 240 Water-based, Acrylic PSA

Published on 2004-09-24. Author : SpecialChem

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- BASF launched its Acronal A 240 high-performance, water-based acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) at the recent Labelexpo Americas 2004 held in Rosemont, Ill.

"Acronal A 240 provides excellent performance, economics and environmental benefits," said Jim Tanger, Business Manager for BASF’s adhesives business in North America. "With its breakthrough technology, Acronal A 240 provides customers with an attractive alternative to solvent-borne acrylic PSAs."

Designed specifically for coating PVC and polyester films used for graphics, such as decorative signage, and for coating wide-format digitally printed image films, Acronal A 240's compatibility with plasticizers allows excellent performance on PVC substrates.

Performance strengths of Acronal A 240 include chemical and environmental resistance, high clarity, excellent shear and peel build, cross-linkability, and moderate tack for easy repositioning.

Typical graphic and wide-format digital imaging applications that can benefit from the Acronal A 240 technology include transportation markings, buswraps, floor and window graphics, trade show displays, computer-aided-signage (CAS), and uses where exposure to exterior and chemical environments are likely to occur.
