BASF's acrylic monomers business in the UK and Ireland - Distribution agreement with Honeywill & Stein Limited

Published on 2002-10-04. Author : SpecialChem

BASF's UK and Ireland distribution business with acrylic monomers in drums will be taken over by Honeywill & Stein Ltd., Sutton, Surrey, as of October 2002. BASF will continue to deliver bulk volumes by tank trucks. With this step the company wants to further improve its business performance on this important market to be able to respond to specific customer requirements.

In continental Europe Interorgana Chemiehandel GmbH+Co.KG, Cologne, Germany, already distributes acrylic monomers for BASF. The reliable business relationship with this company which has developed over the last 25 years was a decisive factor in the decision in favor of the cooperation with Honeywill & Stein. Honeywill & Stein and Interorgana belong to the IMCD Group B.V., Rotterdam, Netherlands.

BASF is the world's largest manufacturer of acrylic acid and acrylic esters. Acrylic acid is the most important precursor in the production of super-absorbents, the active component of baby diapers and other hygienic products. Acrylic esters, the most important derivatives of acrylic acid, are used to produce architectural coatings, adhesive raw materials and construction chemicals.
