BASF to establish new Construction Chemicals plant in Panama

CLEVELAND, OH -- As the leading supplier of Construction Chemicals and system solutions worldwide, BASF will expand its global service and production network with the establishment of a new manufacturing plant in Panama.

"This new facility will help our Construction Chemicals business meet the demands of the construction market in Panama," stated John Salvatore, Head of BASF Construction Chemicals, North America. "We foresee great opportunities for growth and development in Panama and are now better prepared to meet the demands of our customers."

Like all other BASF Construction Chemicals facilities the new site will have local production capabilities and will be staffed with sales and development personnel to provide fast and competent service to customers.

The site will be fully operational by the fourth quarter 2010.

"This investment in Panama demonstrates BASF's continued commitment to the construction industry in Central America," stated Salvatore. "We look forward to being the first Construction Chemical Company to establish a manufacturing plant in Panama."
