Bayer Polymers LLC said its affiliate company Bayer de Mexico has terminated a joint-venture business, Industrias Cydsa Bayer, a supplier of toluene diisocyanate (TDI) to the Mexican market.

The venture businesses' TDI production facility in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico, will be shut down and decommissioned, Bayer said. The facility's annual capacity is 20,000 tons per year. Bayer and venture partner Cydsa S.A. de C.V. of Mexico launched the business in 1977.

Bayer said it will continue to supply TDI to customers in Mexico from storage facilities at the Coatzacoalcos site, with the material provided by plants in Baytown, Texas, and New Martinsville, W.Va.
