Bluestar Silicones Kick-starts R&D Center in Seoul to Support Sealing & Bonding Market for Electronics

Bluestar Silicones, a global integrated silicones leading manufacturer, hold a grand opening of its new Research & Development (R&D) Center and office relocation in Seoul to further strengthen its presence in South Korea.

This is the strategic continued expansion of Bluestar Silicones’ global competence network.

The new site, located in Pangyo Techno Valley, include a Research and Development (R&D) center and administrative office areas. The R&D center houses state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and technical expertise center to support the sales of solutions in the release coating, textile coating and sealing & bonding markets including innovative products for electronic/energy market management. “By working in close cooperation with Bluestar Silicones global competence network having its established laboratories and technical centers throughout China, Europe and America, the new Korea R&D Center is equipped with advanced testing application meeting global standards and guidelines to enable ongoing innovation. Moreover, it is a way to enhance our Open Innovation culture with our Korean partners,” said Dr. Louis Vovelle, Vice President Strategy & Innovation of Bluestar Silicones at the opening. Mr. Gerry Tan, General Manager, Asia Pacific, further expressed that “Bluestar Silicones has been operating in Korea since 2008, our business is in rapid growth in the past 5 years. The establishment of Korea R&D center will ensure us quick response to market needs and provide tailor-made solutions to our Korea customers.”

“In the next five years, we will see the remarkable growth in Korea”, said Mr. In-Jong Cho, Country Manager of Bluestar Silicones Korea, “The Korea R&D Center will provide professional researchers and scientists with collaborative tools by interfacing timely with eight Bluestar Silicones R&D centers worldwide to enhance performance. The new warehouse and R&D center will provide enhanced customer service capabilities, resulting in improved efficiencies and faster response times.”
