Bluestar Silicones to Demonstrate Soft Silicone Elastomers at Medical Device & Manufacturing West Expo

EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- Bluestar Silicones will demonstrate its soft silicone elastomers and Silbione® Skin Adhesive capabilities at the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West Expo, February 10-12, in Anaheim, Calif.

Located at Booth #2869, Bluestar Silicones will host live molding demonstrations, exhibiting the ease-of-use and fast cure features of its Silbione® RTV 4410 QC and 4420 QC silicones. Designed for skin-contact applications, these 10- and 20- Shore A products offer manufacturers the ability to achieve high quality life-like parts in just a fraction of the time of traditional silicone molding products. These products join a range of RTV silicones that offer the same performance benefits at softer durometers, such as its 4 Shore A Silbione® RTV 4404 and its 28 Shore 00 Silbione® RTV 4528.

Bluestar Silicones also will feature its healthcare grade Silbione® brand low durometer liquid silicone rubbers (LSR) (05-to 25-ShA), which incorporate the distinctive advantages of the standard Silbione® 30- to 70-ShA LSR product line, including easy processing, easy release and high performance physical properties.

In addition, Bluestar Silicones will debut its Silbione® skin adhesives, which provide gentle repositionable adhesion to skin. Silbione® skin adhesives are available in a broad range of tack properties and viscosities to meet specific product and processing performance.

"Now, with this new generation of high performance Class VI elastomers, softness and good physicals can be achieved, enabling a much broader range of applications in the healthcare arena," said Karen O'Keefe, North American Healthcare Market Manager.

Bluestar Silicones offers a complete range of Silbione® silicone technologies including LSR, high consistency rubber (HCR), gels, RTVs and specialty fluids that are formulated specifically for healthcare applications such as device fabrication, wound and scar care, pressure relief, prosthetics and pharmaceutical applications.

Bluestar Silicones is a $900 million worldwide silicones manufacturer established in 2007 through China National Bluestar Corporation's acquisition of Rhodia Silicones.
