Borregaard and Equinor shared the first place in the sustainability report ranking done by the Governance Group and BI Norwegian Business School.The analysis agency reviewed sustainability reports for the 100 largest companies listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
“This is a recognition of how we report our sustainability work. Sustainability is a key component of our business model and one of our core values. We don’t have large departments working in the field of sustainability or communication, but in addition to having a multidisciplinary sustainability board, we are close to the issue in all parts of the organization”, said CEO of Borregaard Per Arthur Sørlie.
Assessment Criteria
The companies are assessed within four areas; GRI reporting or similar, the companies' CDP rating, the companies' report on climate risk management and the integration of the UN's sustainability goals. It is also considered to what extent the information is linked to the company's goals, strategies, risks and opportunities.
“Borregaard and Equinor receive top marks on all criteria. It is worth mentioning that Borregaard, who is not even among the 40 largest companies on the Oslo Stock Exchange, deliver a sustainability report that can compare with the stock exchanges real heavyweights,” the report stated.
Among the companies that overall achieve the highest marks; Equinor, Borregaard, DNB, Orkla, Telenor, Mowi, Norsk Hydro, Grieg Seafood, Gjensidige Forsikring, Yara International, Veidekke, Storebrand, Sparebank 1 Østlandet and Entra.
In last year's analyzes, Borregaard was ranked 8th among the 100 largest.
