MIDDLETON, MASS. -- The Bostik Flooring Group unveiled at Surfaces 2007 in Las Vegas the development of DURABOND® D-745™ Fire-Retardant Wall Adhesive. The high-performance, fast grab, firm-set, low-V.O.C., acrylic adhesive is designed for bonding wall carpet where a Class A-rating for flame spread and smoke development is required by ASTM E 84, NFPA No. 225 and UL No. 723 standards.

D-745 contains Bostik's BLOCKADE™ antimicrobial protection, which inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold or mildew on the surface of the dried adhesive, and enables the dried adhesive to resist stains caused by mold.

D-745 may be used over a variety of dry substrates including drywall, concrete, brick, wood and particle board, and has an open time of 20 to 30 minutes. Meeting the toughest air-quality restrictions including SCAQMD1168, DURABOND D-745 Fire-Retardant Wall Adhesive is ideal for carpet installations in schools, offices, retail stores, health-care facilities, homes, apartments, hotels and theaters to name just a few applications.

"DURABOND D-745 performs on porous and non-porous surfaces, and its outstanding wet suction aggressively holds difficult-to-bond corners," said Scott Banda, Bostik Flooring Group Product Manager – Carpet, Vinyl and Patch Products.

D-745 meets CRI Green Label Plus standards as well as U.S. Green Building Council LEED Credit 4.1 guidelines. White in color, D-745 is available immediately in 4-gallon pails.
