Cytec introduces high-performance polyurethane potting compound for demanding SMT applications

West Paterson, NJ -- Cytec Industries Inc. introduces CONAP CONATHANE EN-3010, a filled two-component polyurethane potting compound formulated for Surface Mount Technology (SMT) applications. UL94 V-O recognized and RoHS compliant, CONATHANE EN-3010 is a flexible polyurethane with a fast cure rate and low viscosity that results in process benefits when manufacturing strain-sensitive circuitry with flame retardant and heat dissipation requirements.

CONATHANE EN-3010 exhibits the optimum mix of 70 Shore A hardness, 100% modulus of 668 psi, and 139% elongation. It also has outstanding processing properties of 2,400 cps mixed viscosity at 25°C, 2:1 volumetric mix ratio, fast gellation for increased production throughput, excellent storage stability, and a non-abrasive filler that reduces machine wear. All of these features make CONATHANE EN-3010 well suited for demanding aerospace, automotive, computer, and defense SMT applications.

Its high performance and ease of integration into the manufacturing process make CONATHANE EN-3010 an ideal potting solution for high shock and vibration applications. It can be easily cast into cavities containing electronic components to insulate, protect, and hold them in place - even in the most demanding environments.
