Dow Corning opens Technical Information Centre in Europe

WIESBADEN, Germany -- Dow Corning has opened a new Technical Information Centre (TIC) in Wiesbaden, Germany, extending the company's ability to provide technical support and Live Help to customers in Europe and around the world.

The global centre provides rapid responses to technical, regulatory, and environmental, health and safety inquiries. Team members are able to make product recommendations, provide troubleshooting advice and proven solutions to companies in Europe and around the globe, using state-of-the-art information technology.

"The global service we offer to customers is unique in our industry," said Carol Pudnos, Dow Corning's Global Customer Service Director. "A number of companies including a leading search engine provider has contacted us to understand how we are able to offer this service on such a worldwide scale. Our technical information centre network is staffed by highly trained, committed trouble-shooters, who can promptly answer technical enquiries from customers and potential customers about Dow Corning's products and services in nine languages. This demonstrates that Dow Corning is serious about meeting customers' needs exactly by providing effective services and support."

The Wiesbaden facility is the fourth Technical Information Centre Dow Corning has opened in recent years. Others are in Tokyo, Japan, Songjiang, near Shanghai in China, and Midland, Michigan, USA. Main languages offered are German, English, French, Hungarian, Romanian, Turkish, Japanese, Mandarin, and Portuguese. 'Live Help' is currently available in English (for all time zones), German and Chinese.

"In today's competitive environment customers need to have an easy way to obtain technical support – often outside standard business hours," said Bruno Sulmon, Dow Corning European president. "With our global network, a customer who experiences a problem during the night doesn't have to wait until the next day to get an answer – they can contact Dow Corning via 'Live Help' and get real time support."

The new Technical Information Centre reflects Dow Corning's commitment to providing a range of innovative, easy-to-use services and choices for customers in the silicone industry. Technical information centres can provide product documentation including safety data sheets, technical reports and certificates and product processing guidance. They also offer a detailed awareness of local and regional regulatory and business environments.
