Dow Corning to Discuss Factors that Impact PSA Performance at PSTC

Published on 2005-03-21. Author : SpecialChem

Midland, Michigan, USA - At the Pressure Sensitive Tape Council's TECH XXVIII technical seminar, Dow Corning Pressure Sensitive expert Robert Ekeland will shed light on the complex and interrelated events that impact the apparently simple, everyday act of peeling a roll of tape or applying a PSA-based label.

In his technical presentation, "Release Force Understanding," Ekeland will explain how the formation and architecture of the polydimethylsiloxane network control or influence the performance of the entire PSA laminate.

"Our interest," says Ekeland, "is not only in identifying but also in quantifying the roles of adhesives, silicone release coating and the paper or polymeric substrates used in the construction of PSA laminates."

The TECH XXVII technical seminar, which will be held May 4-6, 2005, in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel, is part of PSTC's annual Week of Learning.

Dow Corning will also be participating in the PSTC Exhibit Showcase on May 5. To learn more about Dow Corning's solventless silicone PSAs, release coatings for films and other opportunity-generating solutions, visit Dow Corning booth 509.
