Dow’s UCAR Emulsion Systems Announces Price Increases for Vinyl Acetate Containing Latex Products

Published on 2005-10-19. Author : SpecialChem

Cary, NC -- UCAR Emulsion Systems (UES), a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, is increasing the off-list prices on its vinyl acetate containing emulsion products.

Effective November 1, 2005, for all North American customers, UES will increase the price of vinyl acrylic and NEOCAR™ latexes by $0.03 / wet pound.

This increase is in addition to the price increase implemented on October 1, 2005, and will affect all market segments, including architectural and industrial coatings, and adhesives and sealants. The ongoing escalation in all costs related to the manufacture of these products, particularly feedstock, energy and transportation costs, continues to drive these increases.

Customers interested in learning more about the price increases should contact their local Dow sales representatives.

The UCAR Emulsion Systems business manufactures and markets emulsions for architectural and industrial coatings as well as for building products, textiles, traffic paint and adhesives. UCAR™ and NEOCAR latexes, and UCAR POLYPHOBE™ rheology modifiers can be formulated into a wide variety of products to enhance performance properties. UES operates at 12 production facilities globally, including five operating in North America.
