DuPont and Resin Express reach interim agreement to distribution dispute

DuPont has backed down in its attempt to end with immediate effect its supply agreement with Resin Express. The distributor will continue to supply DuPonts engineering polymers until the end of this year.

In a joint statement, DuPont and Resin Express said: conditions for ongoing supply thereafter are under discussion.

A spokesman for DuPont told PRW.com the decision to continue supply to the end of the year would create fewer waves than doing it immediately and help maintain customer supply. He added that, despite the intervention of lawyers before the statement was issued, the whole thing is a lot more amicable than people imagine.

Ten days ago the US giant announced an immediate cancellation of its agreement with the High Wycombe-based distributor.

Following the move Resin Express commercial director Filip Van Camfort told PRW.com the company was consulting its lawyers over the decision. "The main thing we are concerned with is the timing. We think we can make a case to delay the immediate effect," he told PRW.com on 3 October.
