"We are committed to our customers and will continue to support their growing needs for ethylene copolymer resins that deliver the product innovation in the markets they serve," stated B. C. "These specialty resin price increases are necessary due to the strong demand for high-pressure capacity polymers and the ongoing high costs of energy and key raw materials. The increases will also help assure our future ability to reliably supply and service our customers globally."

In addition to the product price increases, DuPont P&IP will reduce bulk shipping discounts for all products to more accurately reflect current transportation costs. Effective January 1, 2005, the hopper car discount will be 2.5 cents/lb. and the hopper truck discount will be 1.5 cents/lb., down from 4 cents/lb. and 2.5 cents/lb., respectively.
