BRAMPTON, Ontario -- Henkel Canada Corporation, Consumer
Adhesives announced that it will close its Brampton manufacturing facility
by the end of 2005 as a result of the global restructuring program recently
announced by Henkel. The closing of the 225,000 square foot Brampton facility,
which manufactures adhesives and sealants primarily under the LePage(R)
brand, will impact approximately 140 employees.
Henkel Canada Corporation, Consumer Adhesives will continue
to maintain sales, marketing, regulatory, and distribution in Canada.
The 128-year old LePage brand will remain an important brand in Canada
for Henkel, with product manufacturing integrated within other Henkel

Impacted employees will receive separation packages,
which include severance and benefits continuation. The company will also
work with union representatives, the community and government officials
to ease the impact of the plant closing. In addition, Henkel will be working
with its customers to make sure they are not impacted during the transition.
The Brampton facility will remain open until the end
of 2005.
