MKVS-2019 The Munich Adhesives and Finishing Symposium, the well-established internationally renowned and independent 2.5 day technical conference and networking event including tabletop exhibition, takes place this year from 28 to 30 October in the conference center of the Sheraton Munich Arabellapark Hotel and lays in its 44 edition the main focus on topics around “Hot Melt Adhesives, Hot Melt Pressure Sensitive Adhesives and Extrudable Films.”

New Raw Material and Product Developments

The proposed lectures include a range of topics relevant to the hot-melt adhesives industry, including new raw material and product developments, the opening of new application possibilities, developments in hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives systems and extrudable films, as well as process engineering, process equipment and manufacturing technologies up to the significance and impacts of the EU Circular Economy Strategy on the adhesive bonding technology particularly around hot melts.

All papers are presented and discussed during the symposium in a well-proven manner simultaneously translated from German into English language and vice versa.

Interesting and Cutting-edge Topics at the Event

A few of the interesting and cutting-edge topics out of the broad-spectrum presentation of national and international companies, institutes and universities from the world of hot melt adhesives and converting as well as the German Adhesive Association:

  • EU circular economy strategy – significance, challenges and opportunities for the adhesives industry and adhesive bonding technology
  • Recyclable bonding with hot-melt adhesives
  • Interaction of HMA and paper during the gluing process
  • Comparison between coating processes for hot-melt adhesives
  • Fused deposition modelling of reactive hot-melt adhesives
  • Metal-based 3d-print in plant and mechanical engineering – how generative manufacturing processes redefine boundaries
  • Novel radial high flow sis polymers for oil-free hot-melt PSAs
  • Exploration of polymers and tackifiers in UV-curable adhesives
  • The entry of FT-wax as a performance additive in new generation non-woven hygiene adhesives
  • Technomelt supra pro, technical edge in addition to highest food safety standards compliance
  • Cutting through the fog: solutions for high moisture, refrigerated products
  • Novel acrylic block copolymer for hot-melt PSAs and laminate protective films
  • Vestoplast – new apoas with improved properties
  • Hot moments in bed – hot melt adhesives for mattress production
