Nordson Corporation Announces Changes in Its Adhesive Dispensing and Nonwoven Fiber Management Team

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN - News) announced the following changes in the management of its Adhesive Dispensing and Nonwoven Fiber Systems business. These changes, which will be effective immediately, will better focus senior management to growth opportunities and the continuing achievement of operating efficiencies.

Michael Groos, corporate officer and vice president of Adhesive Dispensing and Nonwoven Fiber Systems and based in Erkrath, Germany, will be responsible for the global development of new markets and applications for Nordson's Packaging and Product Assembly (PPA) and Paper and Paperboard Converting (PPC) businesses. He will continue to be responsible for all of European sales and service in PPA. As a corporate officer, Groos will also continue to oversee all of Nordson's European based operations. Groos began his career with Nordson in 1979 and has held positions of increasing responsibility within the company.

Jeffrey Pembroke has been named vice president sales and marketing of Adhesive Dispensing and Nonwoven Fiber Systems. In this role, Pembroke will be responsible for the global market development and product management of the Adhesives businesses. He also will direct the Nonwovens and Web Coating systems businesses as well as North American sales and service for PPA. Previously Pembroke was vice president sales and marketing of Nordson's Finishing and Coating Systems business segment. Prior to joining Nordson last year, Pembroke was a general manager in General Electric Company's Advanced Materials Group.

James DeVries has been named vice president operations for Adhesive Dispensing and Nonwoven Fiber Systems. In this role, DeVries will bring executive focus on segment operational excellence through the global leadership of all adhesive engineering and manufacturing operations located in North America, Europe and China. In addition to his new responsibilities, DeVries will continue to manage the Nonwoven Fiber Systems business. He was formerly vice president of Nordson's Nonwovens, Web Coating and Fiber Systems business. DeVries began his career with Nordson in 1984 and has held a series of positions with increasing responsibility in Nordson's Automotive and PPA businesses.

Groos, Pembroke and DeVries all will report to John Keane, corporate senior vice president in charge of Nordson's Adhesive Dispensing and Nonwoven Fiber Systems business.

"This realignment of the management structure across the global Adhesive Dispensing businesses brings talent and focus to the segment's critical growth and operational excellence initiatives, as well as better positions Nordson to achieve its growth objectives," said Keane. "Each of the individuals named to these important leadership positions has the commitment, capability and experience necessary to deliver the performance we expect."

Nordson's PPA business manufactures automated dispensing systems used in numerous applications by the food, beverage and packaged goods industries as well as for bonding and sealing wood products, plastic and metal for automotive components, furniture and appliances.

Nordson's PPC business provides hot melt and cold glue adhesive application technologies to paper and paperboard converting industries, including bookbinding, print finishing and carton and box manufacturing.

Nordson's Nonwovens Systems business manufactures automated machinery that produces nonwoven fiber fabrics and equipment that applies adhesives, lotions, liquids and fibers to disposable products, such as baby diapers, adult incontinence products and feminine hygiene products.

Nordson's Web Coating Systems business manufactures laminating and coating machinery used in the production of continuous-roll goods in the nonwovens, textile, paper and flexible-packaging industries for products, such as carpets, tapes and textiles.

Nordson's Fiber Systems business manufactures automated machinery used in the production of nonwoven fabric for rolled goods, such as hygiene, air and liquid filters, wipes, geotextiles and automotive products.
