Noveon buys some assets of France´s Gemoplast

Specialty resins maker Noveon Inc. of Brecksville, Ohio, has acquired certain assets, technology and other intellectual property of Gemoplast SA, a thermoplastic polyurethane maker in Frontonas, France.

"Acquiring the assets and compounding technology of Gemoplast will enable us to expand our TPU business and better serve customers by increasing our range of specialty products," said Julian Steinberg, Noveon Vice President & General Manager, Estane Thermoplastic Polyurethane.

Noveon currently produces thermoplastic polyurethanes and alloys for broad applications, including wire and cable coverings, fabric coatings, hoses and tubes, mass transit, film and sheet, adhesives and binders and molding applications. Major brands include: Estane® thermoplastic polyurethanes, Estaloc® reinforced engineering thermoplastics, and EstaGrip® thermoplastic elastomers.
