Prime Polymer Co., Ltd. has started the full-scale production for “Evolue™” polymer at the new plant located at its Singapore subsidiary, Prime Evolue Singapore Pte. Ltd. Evolue™ is a metallocene-based high-performance sealant material by state-of-the-art production facilities. Together with the current Evolue ™ plant at the Ichihara Works, the new plant will bring the Group’s annual production capacity to 550,000 tons.

Properties of Evolue™

Evolue™ is C6-LLDPE made from the perfect combination of Metallocene catalyst and Mitsui Bimodal process technology. It provides:

  • Excellent puncture resistance
  • Excellent pinhole resistance
  • Excellent optical properties
  • Excellent heat seal properties
  • Food contact compliances
  • Good process-ability
  • Low Fish Eye (Gel)
  • High strength
  • Low odor
  • Good balance of stiffness and strength

Packaging Remains Key Application for High-Performance Sealant

Demand for this performance-driven sealant material used in liquid and powder packaging is expected to continue to rapidly grow in Asia.

This significant increase in production volume will solidify the Group’s position as the top provider in Asia, including Japan. The Group will continue to strengthen and expand its Evolue™ business while contributing to the development of Singapore's chemical industry full-scale local production efforts.

Prime Polymers is a joint venture of Mitsui Chemicals (65%) and Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. (35%) while its Singapore subsidiary is a joint venture of Prime Polymer (80%) and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (20%).
