Rohm and Haas Announces Price Increase for Adhesives and Sealants in North America

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Rohm and Haas's (NYSE: ROH), Packaging and Building Materials business announced a price increase for all products sold to the Adhesives and Sealants Industry. This includes all acrylic, vinyl acrylic, vinyl acetate emulsions, polyurethane, polyester, PVDC and complimentary technologies sold to the pressure sensitive, construction, flexible packaging, transportation, industrial and adhesives industries in North America. The increase, which ranges up to 10 percent, will take effect on November 1, 2007, or as contracts allow.

These increases are necessitated by tightening supply of feedstocks, rapidly rising feedstock costs, and continued increases in energy costs and freight costs.
