PHILADELPHIA -- Specialty materials company Rohm and Haas announced their continuing commitment to supply bulk and drum quantities of acrylate and methacrylate hydroxyalkyl monomers. Rohm and Haas is the sole manufacturer of these monomers in the Americas and has expanded capacity to meet the needs of the market. Rohm and Haas sells to customers manufacturing automotive coatings, paints, printing inks and adhesives. The company is also a captive user of these monomers in support of their acrylic binder and adhesive businesses. "Purchasers of these monomers that are not current Rohm and Haas customers can be assured that we have sufficient capacity to meet their requirements," notes Peter Rozowski, Rohm and Haas global product manager for Primary Materials. The company produces hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), hydroxypropyl methacrylate (HPMA), hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA), and hydroxypropyl acrylate (HPA), all marketed under their Rocryl™ brand.

"Over the past 12 months we have successfully expanded our ability to supply hydroxyalkyl monomers. This enables us to meet our existing merchant and captive business, as well as support new customers and market growth," says Rozowski. "We look forward to working closely with customers in need of a consistent, stable supply of material. That has been a cornerstone of our 25-year supply commitment to the Americas."

Rohm and Haas is the world's largest producer of acrylic monomer, and supplies acrylate, methacrylate, hydroxyalkyl, and other specialty monomers through their global supply chain network.
