MOSCOW -- Rohm and Haas, the global leader in the creation and development of innovative technologies and solutions for the specialty materials industry, is again participating in the International Specialized Exhibition for Paints and Coatings - INTERLAKOKRASKA 2009 - held in Moscow from March 10-13, 2009. This year the company is showcasing a number of innovations focused on allowing for improvements in eco-sustainability for the industrial, decorative, and building and construction coatings segments. Innovation, sustainability, lasting quality and high performance are the key principles of the company's operation that are also visualized in the company's booth design.

The company is focusing on its leadership in a number of key areas: opaque polymers, binders, rheology modifiers, dispersants, biocides, adhesives and monomers.

Technical experts and key Rohm and Haas management from around the world, including Misha Shukov, Rohm and Haas Country Manager for Russia, and Olivier Choulet, PCM Sales Director, EMEA, will be present at the booth and will be available to discuss the company's innovations in the following coatings market segments and product lines:

  • Architectural/Decorative: New low VOC hybrid binder for decorative gloss applications, as well as a new low odour technology platform to formulate primers and top-coats for interior wall paints or wood.
  • Building/Construction: New range of high-performance, environmentally-advanced EIFS (exterior insulation finishing systems) products for a wide range of finishes on exterior residential and commercial building surfaces.
  • Industrial Coatings: New water-borne primer and binder range for industrial metal and wood, combining high-performance with the possibility of an excellent eco-profile, and representing an attractive alternative to solvent-based systems.
  • Hiding technology: New development for use in alkyd emulsion high gloss paint.
  • Rheology modifiers: New low VOC mid-shear viscosity builder with less sensitivity to viscosity drop upon colorant addition.
  • Biocides: Innovative formaldehyde-free solutions which contribute to protecting water-borne coatings against microbial contaminations under even the harshest conditions.

Misha Shukov commented on the company's participation in Interlakokraska 2009: ο£ͺThe past year has been a difficult one for many major businesses across the globe, and there are many more challenges to come in 2009. In spite of this, we remain committed to the Russian market, and in building loyalty with our customers to ensure that we are the partner of choice for all of their needs in the PCM, powder, and biocides segments. Innovation, sustainability, consistent quality and high performance remain our core strategic objectives, and will continue to be a key focus for us for the next few years in Russia, and indeed globally'.

In March 2009, Rohm and Haas also launches the new Russian web-site that gives Russian-speaking customers an opportunity to get the most up-to-date information about Rohm and Haas products, activities and initiatives in their native language.
