Sartomer Company Increases Hydrocarbon Resins Prices

Published on 2007-06-28. Author : SpecialChem

EXTON, Pa. -- Global specialty chemicals manufacturer Sartomer Company will increase the price of its hydrocarbon resin product line in the Americas effective July 1, or as contracts allow. Sartomer's Wingtack® C5 Resins will increase 5 cents per pound and its Norsolene® C9 resins will increase 3 cents per pound.

The increase is attributed to the growing demand and the investment in new technology to meet that demand. Wingtack and Norsolene resins are used in a variety of pressure-sensitive and hot-melt applications. The products are manufactured in Beaumont and Channelview, Texas, respectively.

Sartomer Company, part of Total's Chemicals branch, is a U.S.-based manufacturer of specialty chemicals. Headquartered in Exton, Pa., Sartomer provides a variety of specialty chemicals designed to enhance processing and performance characteristics in coatings, inks, elastomers, adhesives, sealants, composites, and other demanding applications. The company's product offering includes more than 620 monomers and oligomers, photoinitiators, polybutadiene resins, styrene maleic anhydride resins, hydrocarbon resins, and other specialty chemicals.
