Scapa Medical Introduces Medical Adhesives for Direct Skin Applications

MG Series comprising of high molecular weight rubber based medical adhesives is introduced by Scapa Medical, for direct skin applications such as monitoring sensors, bandages and personal care items.

These adhesives are composed of a gelatinous thermoplastic material that behaves like a solid adhesive but has conformations like a liquid. The adhesives resemble hydrogels in some ways. They provide adhesion properties similar to those of hydrogels but will not dry out, are not sensitive to water like themremoving storage and packaging problems.

MG Series gives an immediate gentle bond to skin, and allows pain-free removal. These adhesives may be used on a variety of substrates including polyurethane films, non-woven fabrics and polyethylene and polyurethane foams.

Scapa North America develops innovative specialty adhesive films and tapes. Aerospace, automotive, construction, electronics, industrial assembly, medical, and printing and graphics are its major markets.
