BETHESDA, MD -- The Adhesive and Sealant Council is pleased to announce the promotion of Lawrence D. Sloan to President. Since joining ASC in 2001, Sloan has played a vital role in strengthening ASC's membership services and building strategic relationships with end-user organizations and other industry related trade associations. Under his leadership, ASC's outreach to member companies has improved substantially, and several new programs and services have been developed.

Most notably, Sloan has served as board chair and managed the ASC's Building the Industry (BTI) Program, a two-year industry growth initiative targeting structural and assembly applications. He was also instrumental in successfully launching ASC's Smaller Business Program, which currently offers executives from small and mediumsized companies a forum to learn about topics of specific interest to them. He rolled out new member programs, such as the APPI Energy and Utility Audit Programs, and managed ASC's member recruitment and overall marketing promotion activities.

Sloan holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Marketing from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Prior to joining ASC, Sloan worked for Air Products and Chemicals, Nalco Chemical, and most recently, in his family's business as a manufacturers' representative selling water treatment equipment.
