Surface Specialties, Inc. Announces Price Increases on Adhesives Product Lines for the Americas

Published on 2005-02-28. Author : SpecialChem

ATLANTA, GA -- Surface Specialties, Inc. announced prices increases of $0.10/lb. for its solvent pressure sensitive adhesives under the brands Gelva® Multipolymer Solutions (GMS) and Solucryl®, and $0.07/lb. for all of its acrylic emulsion adhesives sold under the brands Gelva® Multipolymer Emulsion (GME) and Ucecryl®.

The increases will take effect March 1, 2005 for all products sold in the Americas, or as contracts allow.

Company officials said the increases are necessary to offset the continuing escalation in raw material pricing, especially for acrylic monomers. Rising associated costs in logistics and packaging supplies were also contributing factors.

While acrylic monomers continue to be in short supply/high demand globally, Surface Specialties, Inc. will continue working diligently to ensure continuity of supply of its adhesive products to its customers in key strategic markets, company officials added.

Surface Specialties, Inc. is a world leader in the development and manufacture of technically innovative products and solutions for surface applications. These specialties include coating resins, additives, and adhesives.
